BBQ Grill Cake

I think this was my most creative/challenging cake thus far. A coworkers' wife called me and asked if I would make Keith's 40th birthday cake. He loves to grill and she wanted to know if I thought I might be able to do a grill/BBQ cake. Well I began looking for pictures/instructions on how I might go about this one. Found many great ideas and actually it was much easier than I expected and LOTS of fun! I used Tootsie Rolls and Starburst for the
hamburger patties and cheese, hotdogs, beef kabobs and peppers. I used Twizzlers to make the "grill rack" to raise it up off the cake a bit and then cut little pieces of the Twizzlers and sprinkled powdered sugar on them to represent coals. All in all it turned out great!

13-year-old Birthday Cake

This has to be one of my favorite cakes I've made. One of my coworkers asked me to do her 13-year-old's birthday cake. Her daughter had definite ideas on what she wanted her cake to look like and Rhonda brought a computer drawing of the cake with the colors. Her daughter had made the numbers and letters herself for the cake topper and her grandmother tied the bow for the top. The top and bottom layers were chocolate on chocolate and the middle layer was white cake with chocolate icing. The colors turned out beautiful if I do say so myself!

Layer Cakes

I also do a variety of layer cakes. Here are some pictures of my German Chocolate cake, a Strawberry Cream cake and a new one I tried just this last weekend: Almond Sour Cream Cake with cheesecake filling and Raspberry Buttercream Icing.

I also do Coconut, Chocolate sheet, Caramel, Red Velvet, Pound Cakes, Butternut and will try any flavor combinations that are requested.

I also decided to try a cheesecake.  Here is the result.  It was delish!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Well who knew that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would make a comeback! But they have. I had a request this month from a grandmother of an eight-year-old for this cake.

Pretty Princess Cake

This is probably one of my favorite creations of late. I was asked to do a three-tiered cake for a child's 7th birthday. The mother asked for it to be princess cake, pink, and girly. I found edible pearls, a tiara, and some ribbon to add to it.

Baby's First Birthday

Here is a cake I did for a friend's granddaughter's first birthday. They used paper products that had polka dots in these colors and asked if I would match the colors to them.

The next year I did the cakes for her little sister.

Dragon Ball Z

Well this was a first for me. The client sent me the picture of a character I has never seen. Asked if I could put this on a cake for her husband. I've put the picture beside the cake to show you what I had to work with. I think it turned out pretty good.
